A few weeks back I got an email from Shelley at YirollCaffebake and she invited me to join her for a cup of coffee at her coffee shop. I had very little knowledge of Yiroll Caffebake other than what I had seen from the Huletts Coffee Break competition that was recently run, and it looked like a popular spot.
Yiroll Caffebake is located in Springfield Park at The Home Centre, and has been around for years. There are so many areas in Durban that I have yet to explore and the unique positioning of this coffee shop bodes well for Saturday mornings when families horde into Springfield Park’s Value Centre, Makro, and The Home Centre.
Shelley shared the story behind Yiroll and how between friends and family she had come to manage Yiroll with her brother. I love a good story and she had me hooked as I listen intently to hers.
Yiroll Caffebake is well known for serving up freshly baked baguettes, bagals and croissants, all 3 of which Shelley kindly gave me tasters, and Paul and I munched on them for lunch. Delish! Yiroll serves up a tasty breakfast and lunch menu, as well as fresh muffins and cakes to pair with your drink of choice. If it’s coffee you’d prefer then a 100% Arabic bean is what you will get.
So the next time you spend a Saturday morning in Springfield Park and your feet are sore from trekking around the centres, stop in at Yiroll Caffebake and replenish your energy.
