The past 5 months have been incredibly busy! From getting engaged, going overseas for Christmas and New Year… to moving cities, starting a new job, planning a wedding and moving house. Not to mention trying to find my feet at Church, meet people, get involved and make friends.
I have been overwhelmed.
But as I look back over this time I can see what God has started doing. I asked him a while ago to teach me and prepare me for the coming season, being a wife and being the wife of a pastor. I also asked him to make me a light in my work place and amidst my friends and people I am meeting. I haven’t felt I have been this because of all the rush that life has presented itself with. But God has had a plan this whole time.
I have had the privilege of chatting to two amazing older women over the past weeks and they have imparted such incredible truth and practical wisdom into my life. Each week they have listened so deeply to my questions and have helped me identify ways to refresh and renew my soul!
God’s plan for us is one full of HOPE! I was reading in Job, one of the most deeply moving books for me, and in Job’s utter pain he proclaims that when we hope we find courage! What do you hope in?
I had been hoping in the ability to get through each busy day… but when I really look deeply into hope, what I should have been hoping in, what we should always hope in is Jesus.
Jesus, the all encompassing giver of love, knowledge, peace, freedom, strength and courage. Jesus is our hope and when we hope in Him we get all of who He is.
We need to open the door for Him to refresh and renew us. We need to look past the busy day, the anxiety, the pressures, the fears, the momentary pleasures and we need to look to him… he has a good and perfect will for your life, for my life and as we hope in Him we allow ourselves to be refreshed, to be renewed.
I have been anxious at work and Jesus quietly urged me to take Him to work, to work with Him in mind. It has been helping! Last night was the first Sunday night that I have felt peace about the next day. Thank you Jesus. Daily I am hoping in God, holding on to Him in everything I do and most importantly trying not to get lost amidst all the rush. It is a journey that I am excited to grow through.
I pray that this post will encourage you, whatever you are dealing with, whatever season you are in, but that it will encourage you to have hope and better yet, to hope in Jesus! Then, that you too may be refreshed and renewed!
