This weekend marks a very special time in my life and many of my friends’ lives. It is Easter! Yes we will be munching away on chocolate eggs but mostly we will be remembering and celebrating a life given for us. Easter for me is a time when I remember what Jesus did for me… He died so that I could have life. Thank you Jesus! The bible tells us that “there is a time for everything” and this is a time to celebrate!
Tonight Paul and I are attending our church’s Maundy service. I have never been to one of these but this is a time to reflect on how Jesus felt the night before He died. Tomorrow morning our church holds a 6am Good Friday sunrise service, and on Sunday we will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus at our Easter Service. I cannot wait. It is our time to celebrate and honour what Jesus has done for us.
Easter feels more significant to me this year then I have ever experienced, so I am most excited for this weekend and the time that I get to share in community and love over such a special time. I think it has something to do with experiencing so much of God’s Grace over the past year and Grace is what we received when Jesus died for us.
Grace is one of the most beautiful concepts! Jesus took our sin, that we would become blameless and live eternal lives! WOW! Grace is what covers us when we make bad choices… it is what Jesus shows us when He rescues us over and over. Grace is INCREDIBLY humbling. Even writing this I am feeling so humbled.
So to all of you reading this, have a very happy Easter weekend. Whatever your plans are, enjoy! Drive safely, as the roads are always hazardous at this time of year.
If you celebrate Easter I pray it will be such a blessed time! If you don’t, enjoy the two extra days of weekend, and rest 🙂
Much love and big hugs
