A few weeks ago I got a call saying that I had been chosen to participate in a Mission Samsung Blogger Challenge. I was so excited and got ready for what was to come. Samsung then delivered a snazy Smart Microwave Oven and I got straight to reading the extensively detailed manual.
This 3rd Category of challenges is all about FOOD!!! I’m very happy about that. So tonight I start my first challenge and have a little surprise waiting for you Samsung (naughty grin).
Challenge 1: Weekend Night Feast Challenge
Mission Instructions: “Change everything you thought you ever knew about a microwave, by preparing the ultimate gourmet pizza.”
So I got down to business and made my dough from scratch – see recipe here.
This Smart Microwave Oven is AMAZING! It has a Dough Proof function that helps activate the yeast and “grow” the dough.
Next was the fun bit – the Coffey & Cake inspired pizza topping. I am one who likes to live by the saying “Eat dessert first!” This pizza is best known as the Coffey Banoffee Pizza, a dessert pizza that surpasses all others. I grew up on a banana farm so any pizza, or food for that matter, with banana in I am game for.
Here’s what’s in it…
Make the dough using the dough proof function.
Preheat the Smart Oven to 200 degrees C, using the convection function
Cook the pizza base in the Smart Microwave Oven for 10mins.
Spoon a layer of caramel treat over the base.
Add chopped banana over the caramel treat.
Place back in the Smart Oven for 8mins.
Remove from Smart Oven and leave until warm (not hot).
Whip 120ml cream and mix in with approx 3tbsp (depends on your sweet tooth) caramel treat, spoon this over the bananas.
Finally top with more chopped bananas.
Serve with coffee infused ice-cream. Delish!!!
Having made pizza dough for 4 pizzas I then made savoury pizzas to share with our upstairs neighbour friends. These pizzas were topped with caramelised onions, garlic, camembert, panceta, avo and rocket.
Make the dough using the dough proof function.
Preheat the Smart Oven to 200 degrees C, using the convection function
Brush olive oil and crushed garlic over the base.
Fry red onion and brown sugar until soft and caramelised, then spread over the pizza base.
Place in the Smart Microwave Oven and bake for about 15 minutes.
Add the camembert and place back in the Smart Oven for 5mins.
Add the panceta and place back in the oven for the last 2 mins.
Top with avo and rocket, and drizzle with Balsamic Vinegar.
Another absolute winner!
So that was me done – dessert pizza to start and a savoury pizza to finish off the Friday night feast.

Love the sound of a banoffee pizza but might need to eat these two the other way around… Savoury first!
