I grew up on the South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal and my mom still lives there so we often make the 1 hour trip down to visit her. The usual stop is the Shell garage in Mnini, however we recently stumbled upon The Coffee Theatre in Winklespruit. A coffee shop not too far off the highway, serving Coffee Merchant coffee.
The Coffee Theatre has the greatest start-up story. It began when three ladies, Liz, Lelanie, and Nichole, needed to raise money for a band tour and so they started selling cakes. These cakes got so popular that they opened up their first shop in the Fountain Medical Centre. Calvin joined the team and 18 months later they had two coffee shops.
The Coffee Theatre has a full breakfast and lunch menu, they serve a really great cup of Coffee Merchant Coffee, and their service is friendly and efficient. They offer catering for functions and they still make their delectable cakes to order.
Their second and bigger cafe is located at 4 Araucaria Road, Winklespruit, in the Pick & Pay Centre. The Coffee Theatre is the perfect halfway stop for us now on our trips to and from the South Coast and I am SO pleased we found it.
