On Monday I took a trip up to Kloof to try out Empire Coffee Co. I was not so sure where to go but Empire Coffee is conveniently situated just off the M13 in the Maytime Centre on Charles Way. Once found I was immediately sold by the incredibly modern and chic branding.
The weather was a bit overcast and temperamental so a cup of coffee was ordered very quickly. Nathi is the barista at Empire Coffee and he is a real legend. He chatted away telling us all about where he was from and his background in the cafe industry. He made me a delicious cappuccino and I have to admit that the milk texture was EXACTLY how I like it.
Empire Coffee use a 100% Arabica blend of coffee from The Coffee Merchant, and are in the process of expanding their lunchtime menu. At the moment you can get freshly baked cupcakes and muffins with your choice of coffee or freezo, all supplied by the Village Spar down the road. This is what community is all about, sticking together to bring good quality goods! I love it! Oh and parents, they share space with Bella & Boo so while you get your daily dose of caffeine your kids can enjoy some FroYo too. Win Win!
Anyway, on getting home that day I was so intruiged by the name and branding of Empire Coffee that I gave Peter, owner of Empire Coffee, a call and what a great chap to chat too. His passion for the brand made me so excited to write this post. So here is the inside scoop…
