Today I baked brave for World Baking Day! I sat for about an hour trying to decide what to make and found myself becoming quite competitive about what level I was at as a baker. If you haven’t seen the World Baking Day website it is worth a look. There are some delicious looking recipes, ranging from very easy to Cake Boss champion level.
I couldn’t decide on one from their list so I made up my own variation of a Chocolate Tart.
So here is the recipe and some pictures of the final product.
You will need:
A box of Dark Chocolate Digestive Biscuits
A block of Stork Bake margarine
2 slabs of white chocolate
1 slab of dark chocolate
250g Mascarpone Cheese
What to do:
For the Base
Use a magi-mix to crush up the digestive biscuits.
Mix in 1/3 cup of melted margarine to hold the biscuit together.
Press into a pie dish.
Place under the grill for about 5mins, or until just turning brown
For the Filling
Melt the 2 slabs of white chocolate and 3/4 of the dark chocolate slab
Mix in 250g of Mascarpone cheese
Pour the filling into the cooled pie dish. Place in the fridge to set. Grate the remainder of the dark chocolate over the tart.
Voila – you now have a very delicious Chocolate & Mascarpone Tart to share with your friends and family.
This recipe can be made as a white chocolate only tart, and you can add strawberries or blueberries on the top.
Make it your own, but most of all HAVE FUN!
