On the 1st of September, Paul and I tied the knot. We got married in a gorgeous country chapel in the Dargle Valley, Crab Apple Chapel, and we had our reception in a cosy barn at The Cairn of Old Kilgobbin. What a glorious day it was. Despite the cold weather, our guests ate good food, drank their fair share of red wine and whiskey, and sat amongst the most quaint and beautiful antique decor.
I loved everything about our wedding. We were so blessed with an incredible venue, a friend who spoke so eloquently at our ceremony and family who just showered us with love the whole day. It is truly a day that I will never forget.
Paul and I had such fun missioning around the farm having photographs taken, I cannot wait to see them and have shared one sneak peak with you below.
Marriage is just the best! We have loved the past month and every day I seem to get more excited about being married to Paul. He is rather incredible but more than that their is just such happiness that comes with marriage. A freedom that I cannot express well enough but in my heart I feel it. I feel so blessed to have received this gift, this grace. Today I changed my Facebook cover photo to one of my favourite verses, “We love because He first loved us- 1 John 4: 19. I am so grateful that we can loved and be loved, because it is such a treasure.
It will be my hearts endeavour to love Paul as Jesus has loved me. I am so excited!
However, as happens in marriage, my surname has changed and is no longer Coffey. I am now Phillipa Rowney. I questioned whether I should change the name of my blog and then I decided against it. It is a great reminder of my Irish heritage and the awesome years I spent being approached with almost every coffee joke in the book. I shall keep blogging about awesome little coffee shops and the delicious treats that may come from these, so until my next post… happy reading!
