The Harvest

31st July 2014

So if you haven’t heard about this new Saturday lunch event starting in Durban on the the 16th August, well then here you are… introducing The Harvest.

I got in touch with the organisers and here is all you need to know about this event.

What is The Harvest?
The Harvest is a upcoming Durban event with the launch event on the 16th of August at the super cool Factory Cafe in Umbilo, Durban. The event will run from 12noon until 6pm and will be an afternoon of live music, fresh and tasty food, jam jar cocktails, beer, wine and much more! If the Durbanites are looking for a vibey, festive place to spend their Saturday afternoon, then the Harvest is the destination! It’s an open event so the more the merrier - please expect a R40 entrance fee.

How often will The Harvest happen?
Our launch event is on the 16th August and thereafter we will be announcing the next event dates on our Facebook page - go to https://www.facebook.com/theharvestevent to keep up to date! We are going to maintain an element of surprise when planning the following events so keep an eye out for more info on upcoming events and locations.

Does one order as in a restaurant or will there be vendors selling?

There will be various food stands selling a simple but tasty range of food for the afternoon, including the very well known Zak & Tonic.

Who is running the event? Event company or individuals?
The Harvest was conceptualised and created by 3 passionate individuals, with inspiration from awesome Joburg and Cape Town events - we decided that Durban needed one! So here it is, The Harvest which run by a super quirky trio.
What type of food & drinks can we expect?
To tickle the foodies taste buds we have a range of simple, fresh and tasty food on offer, from a delicious Indonesian wild rice salad to hearty gourmet rolls, a harvest board, cupcakes and more.
The bar will be fully stocked with wine, bubbly, beers and ciders and our wonderful jam jar cocktails including Pimms, G&T’s and our very own imported Mozambican Tipo Tinto Rum & Raspberry.
SO there you have it, straight from the mouths of the organisers. If you don’t have plans for the 16th August then make your way to The Harvest at Factory Cafe - 369 Gale Street, Durban.
Follow The Harvest on Facebook to find out when the next lunch is.
