I have been living in Bryanston, JHB, for the whole of this year and only recently heard about the Country Living coffee shop in the Bryanston shopping centre. On arrival to meet a friend I was convinced I was at the wrong centre, however as I walked up more steps, as though into the clouds, there it was. A vanilla scented, stone coloured, place of comfort.
The Country Living vibe boasts an intense fusion of chique and homely decor and therefore the coffee shop is adorned with beautiful wooden frames and shutters on the windows. What attracted me to this coffee shop was the brand of coffee they sell, Origin Coffee. I first discovered Origin in Cape Town when I was studying there and have since taken quite a liking to it. Hence my approval on this choice of shop.
Another unique experience at Country Living is on ordering tea one receives a glass tea pot placed over a tea light, a sieve filled with the tea of your choice, and a timer. I have such fond memories of my granny making us tea when we visited her on the farm, She only used tea leaves, a sieve and boiling water. What a beautiful way of getting back to basics!
Definately a good visit if you are in the Northern suburbs or if you want a change of scenery.
